New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and with so many parties and other events happening over the silly season, it can be hard to find the time to choose an outfit for your New Year’s Eve party, let alone get ready for one!
As a Stylist with 4 kids, I have well and truly mastered the art of choosing an outfit and getting ready, fast! In some cases, I’ve even been known to get ready for a cocktail party or black-tie event in just 15 minutes. Yep! You read right… 15 minutes!
This could be you too. Find out how with a few of my tips and tricks for pulling off a party look in just 15 minutes.
You don’t need to wear a dress
Want to venture outside your comfort zone and bypass the dresses? Party dressing can be even more fun if you venture outside your comfort zone.
A humble pair of jeans can rise to the occasion when paired with the right sequin top and strappy heel.
A statement skirt can do wonders when teamed with a silk cami or white tee and nude sandals.
Highlight your look with highlighter
Looking to highlight your look and get your glow on? Highlighter is the way to do it.
In fact, a touch of perfectly placed highlighter can help instantly open up the look of your eyes, define your face, and create symmetry, giving you the perfect highlight for your New Year’s Eve look.
Go with Smokey Eyes
Want to give your eyes that extra bang? Dark eyeshadow and eyeliner instantly elevate any beauty look.
Smudge around your eyes for that subtle, yet sultry Smokey eye look. Remember that when you apply a Smokey eye, a neutral lip is best as the focus is on your eyes.
This also works in reverse; when you have a bold lip, a natural eye makeup works best.
Accessories are so important and can really make or break an outfit, especially on New Year’s Eve.
If you plan on wearing a LBD (little black dress), focus on your shoe and bag choices and go for glitter and shimmer for the perfect accessories to start your new year.
Slick back your hair
No time to style your hair? No worries! Slick back your hair and opt for a sexy ‘wet hair look’.
Make this look last even longer by slapping on a leave-in mask for extra hold.
If you’re worried about being tight for time this party season, don’t worry. These tips will have you ready and looking stunningly stylish in no time.
